Kiara Suey recently participated in the Toowoomba representative side which competed at the under 13 girls QLD Hockey Championships in Mackay through the support given to her by the SWIN Small Grants Subsidy Program!

Kiara Suey successfully applied under the SWIN Small Grants Subsidy program for assistance to participate in the Toowoomba representative side which competed at the under 13 girls QLD Hockey Championships in Mackay.
This is Kiara’s story –
On the 23rd of June 2013 to the 28th of June, Kiara Suey was selected to represent Toowoomba, to compete at the U13 girls Queensland Hockey Championships in Mackay.  Toowoomba 1 played exceptionally well and remained undefeated to make the finals. After a tight game against Brisbane 1, the full time score was 1-1. The game then went on to a “shoot out”, where Kiara went first and smashed her goal in. Toowoomba 1 girls then went on to shoot out 4 goals out of 5 and Brisbane 1 were unlucky to get only 2. This gave Toowoomba a 5-3 Grand Final win for 2013. Kiara then went on to be proudly named in the Queensland U13 Girls Hockey team to travel to Hobart, Tasmania in September/ October to compete in the Australian U13 Girls Hockey Championships.

Congratulations to Kiara on her fantastic achievements and good luck for the Australian Championships!
