The SWIN Race Day is not only a time to honour legacy and community—it is also a moment to celebrate excellence and achievement through the Pathways Awards. These awards highlight the dedication, innovation, and determination of individuals who have made remarkable strides in their sporting journeys. At the heart of this celebration is the Pathways Program, SWIN’s flagship initiative, designed to support the sporting aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth.

By assisting with the often prohibitive costs of competition, the program enables young people to travel across Queensland to represent their communities at regional and state-level events. The impact of this support is profound, leading to increased Indigenous representation in sport, improved health and fitness, and a boost in confidence and pride for young people, their families, and their communities. As part of this special evening, we proudly recognise two outstanding individuals who continue to excel through this program and represent their communities on some of the biggest sporting stages.
