Success Story – Back to School Initiative 2026
The success of this year’s Back to School initiative was driven by a deliberate shift toward a more intimate, targeted approach—allowing SWIN to support children and families who needed it most, while fostering a genuine sense of pride, confidence, and readiness for the school year ahead. Identified in partnership with trusted local services, over 60 backpacks were distributed, each thoughtfully packed with essential items including lunchboxes, water bottles, hygiene products, and healthy lunchbox resources. In addition, families received uniform and stationery vouchers, along with Woolworths vouchers to help kick-start nutritious school lunches.
This initiative strongly reflects SWIN’s mission to improve the quality of life for Indigenous children and families through culturally safe, practical support, while directly contributing to our key performance indicator of improved school engagement and retention. None of this would have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors — FKG, RiE Group, Altrad, MPK, Wild Desert, Origin, Santos, GR Productions, and Miles Accommodation Services — whose commitment ensured students were able to return to school equipped, confident, and supported to continue their education.
