The Toowoomba NAIDOC Golf Classic is quickly becoming recognised as one of the most popular social events in the South-West QLD region, particularly for Indigenous people, and provides a great networking opportunity for all involved.

The Toowoomba NAIDOC Committee is dedicated to supporting Indigenous cultural revival and reconciliation in our region through practical inclusive community based activities. The committee is made up of volunteers who represent a broad cross section of the local community.

The National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Day of Celebration (NAIDOC) takes place each year in July.  NAIDOC Week is a celebration of the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It represents an opportunity for all Australians to foster stronger relationships based on a shared knowledge and mutual respect.

For the past two years the committee has decided to shift this event from its traditional time slot in July to Friday 16th November 2012 when the weather conditions will be more conducive to holding the Toowoomba NAIDOC Golf Classic. If you would like to find out more information about the Toowoomba NAIDOC Committee and/or this event, please feel free to contact Daryl Docherty on 0459 81 5679 or email daryl.docherty@deta.qld.gov.au.

The South West Indigenous Network is a proud Major sponsor of the 2012 Toowoomba NAIDOC Golf Classic along with Centrecare and Max Employment.
